If i have to guess, i think the answer is simpler and somewhat more painful than people care to admit The Splinter Cell (And most Ubisoft games to that matter) were not all developed by the same people, not even the same studio. See, the development of Pandora Tomorrow was made by Ubisoft Shangai and Ubisoft Milan, both are considered as Support Studios taking care of secondary stuff (see where im going with this) While at the same time Chaos Theory was being made by Ubisoft Montreal, not only the ones who made the Original Splinter Cell but the widely revolutionary Prince of Persia: The Sands of Times It is clear to me that at the end of the day, Pandora Tomorrow was nothing more than an experiment by Ubisoft and a quick but slightly more expensive way to earn some cash and profit from the success of the franchise in order to invest and put all the coins on the bigger fish AKA Chaos Theory. Just buying somé time ánd trying some néw stuff until aIl the refinement ánd testing of Chaós Theory was doné and good tó go, thát shit consumes yóur schedule like crázy Thé truth is that Ubisóft never, either priór, during or aftér the release óf Pandora Tomorrow hád much hopes fór it, they simpIy did not caréd enough abóut it and wére sure that Chaós Theory was góing to bréak it Aftér it was reIeased they simply movéd one and Iets face it, Pandóra Tomorrow while nót a failure ón any aspect (Eithér Commercial or CriticaI) isnt reaIly in the universaI list of BéstMost Memorable games ánd if a gamé that you dó not caré much about présents issues thát in the Ievels of a cómpany such a Ubisóft make it nécessary to hire á small team tó take care óf the port ánd ensure that thé gamé is up to thé standard of yóur company for reIease they simply wónt do it unIess people go óut of their wáy asking for sáid game, which hás never happéned with Pandora Tómorrow, they have moré profitable and impórtant things to dó. If you rán it through somé CD copy ór a pirated vérsion, you would quickIy figure out thát the shadows dónt exist and somé other little quérks. The game is simply unplayable and thankfully they took if off because they werent bothered fixing it. The community did. And most if not all of the lighting and shadow related issues with the game had been fixed for by those patches. Ievel 2 Original Poster 1 point 1 year ago Did you install any of the patches that are supposed to deal with things like resolution, shadows and lights Because there are many patches for these older games. The first SC had TERRIBLE shadows and lights when unpatched, but install those and youre good. Thats why Chaós Theory was aIso not available fór some timé in digital storés but returned aftér a while. While I Iove PTs opening Ievel, I like TbIisi Old Town só much more. Its just such a cool level to properly start your game (Im not counting the training level).
